If you are looking for a challenging workout that will help you to increase strength, muscular endurance, cardio and burn fat, then look no further than these barbell complexes
A barbell complex is set of exercises performed one after the other, using a single barbell and the same weight. The goal is not to take your hands off the barbell while you transition from exercises to exercise. Usually a complex is composed of 4-7 barbell movements that flow easily.
HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS WHEN IT COMES TO COMPLEXES
- When it comes to organising a complex make sure it has a logic flow especially if the bar is passing over your head . An example would if you are doing Deadlifts first then Back Squats next
- Its diffcult to to consider rep ranges at times but for metabolic purposes 6-10 reps per exercises is best . 3-5 reps is greater for higher loads and building muscle with big exercises .
- One thing we have done here at CrossFit For Fitness is don't use the same rep ranges for all exercises . For instance we always choose the weight based on your weakest movement . So if a complex has Deadlifts, Cleans , Front Squats , Presses , Back Squats the weakest link here is the press. So we would base our complex around the press
All in all, you cannot go wrong adding these Barbell complexes to your overall training once in a while to help build up lean muscle while destroying body fat.
